THIS RUG'S STORY:
Marrakech is a rug I named after the beloved city in Morocco. Just like the rosey red medina walls, this rug features a beautiful background with various star motifs scattered throughout. As most vintage Beni M'Guilds tend to have more of a diamond pattern, this one is a rare treat.
This is one I hand-selected on my most recent trip to Morocco. This one is nice because it's colorful but at the same time very versatile, fitting into almost any style of interior!
ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:
Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
COLORS/MATERIALS: warm rose pink, faded dark black, orange, and green with black edging. Hand knotted wool.
ESTIMATED AGE: Vintage - approx. 35-40 years old
