THIS RUG'S STORY:
Splendor is a stunning piece from the Beni M'Guild tribe. This vintage beauty features a divided diamond pattern with stars and other motifs woven in randomly throughout. It is a soft red with hints of orange, green, and brown. The Beni M'Guild tribe originates from the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. These rugs typically feature higher dense pile that is characteristic of this mountain tribe. This was to provide warmth during the harsh winters!
Beni M'Guilds are wonderful because they are reversible - as you'll see from the pictures, the back side of the rug is very striking too!
ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:
Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors in each rug vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.

PILE/CONDITION: medium pile (kind of low for a beni) and slightly crooked. missing some tassels but otherwise good condition
