Inversion
THIS RUG'S STORY:
Inversion is a work of art from the Beni M'Guild tribe. This vintage beauty features an interesting pattern that is pretty unique for this tribe. The Beni M'Guild people originate in the Middle Atlas Mountain region in Morocco. To keep warm during the harsh winters, rugs of this tribe typically feature higher dense pile. Many times, they were used often used as blankets or too sleep on.
Beni M'Guilds are wonderful because they are reversible - as you'll see from the pictures, the back side of the rug is stunning too! I actually picked it because of the details on the back!
ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:
Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors in each rug vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
