Aeron
THIS RUG'S STORY:
Aeron is a neutral beauty from the village of Azilal in the High Atlas mountains. Whenever I score a vintage Azilal like this, I consider it an absolute home run! Azilal rugs are often times very neutral, but the variation of tones in this one is so wonderful. This piece is au naturale, the colors are taken from different colors of sheep wool! The only dyed wool is the darkest brown colors. The pattern is unlike any other I've come across. This rug could work in practically any style home - it's timeless!
ABOUT MOROCCAN RUGS:
Each vintage Moroccan rug is hand woven and knotted by Berber women of the tribal region specified. This level of craftsmanship can take up to weeks or months to complete a single rug. Weaving techniques have been passed down through the generations. The patterns, designs, and colors in each rug vary with each rug, weaver, and tribe – so each piece is truly a unique work of art and 2 pieces will never be the same. Often these rugs have been handed down through the families who created them, and have been uncovered from the mountain and rural areas of Morocco.
